In Japan, the special first aired in 2013. After a decade, it is finally getting an English dubbed release in North America. The upcoming Toonami episode is titled “Dream 9 Toriko & One Piece & Dragon Ball Z Super Collaboration Special.” Toei Animation announced that the episode’s dubbed release date would be March.

Three of the most popular anime series were brought together in One Piece season 16, episode 590, “History’s Strongest Collaboration vs. Glutton of the Sea,” bringing some of the world’s most beloved characters together for the first time. The two strongest and most noble fighters, Luffy and Goku, were brought together in a fun and exciting episode.

The crossover team wisely combined the two goofballs, Luffy and Goku, with the incredible gourmet hunter Toriko. All three protagonists compete in the IGO tournament to find the best-tasting meat in the world. All three strong and tenacious characters are tied in the competition. The three decide to fight as a tiebreaker. Finally, all three groups share a meal. Of course, the creators included the voracious eaters sharing a meal.

Vegeta, Piccolo, Zorro, Gohan, Komatsu, Usopp, and Mr.Satan are also featured in the episode. As their leaders compete in the tournament, the obstinate group decides to demonstrate their abilities and compete in a friendly battle.

There have been many changes in the decade since the episode first aired. Toriko ended in 2014, having aired nearly 150 episodes. The Dragon Ball franchise continues to expand with new series and films, the most recent being Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. One Piece is still airing and streaming on platforms like Netflix and Crunchyroll. The series has announced that it is now in its final saga.

Fans can still watch One Piece because Netflix is set to release a live-action series later this year. The first season has ten episodes and is executive produced by the manga’s creators, Eichiro Oda, Matt Owens, Marty Adelstein, Steve Maeda, and Becky Clements.

Mark March 4, 2023, as the date for the special crossover dubbed episode on Adult Swim’s Toonami. Meanwhile, here’s a sneak peek at Netflix’s live-action One Piece adaptation:
