A battery recalibration procedure for the 44mm Apple Watch Series 6 will be included in the watchOS 9.4 update, which Apple is currently beta testing, the company announced today in an updated Apple Watch support page.
The 44mm Apple Watch Series 6 will be able to estimate maximum battery capacity more precisely following the recalibration procedure after updating to watchOS 9.4.
With the release of watchOS 9, Apple recalibrated the batteries in the Apple Watch Series 4 and Apple Watch Series 5. The 44mm Apple Watch Series 6 is now being added.
Certain iPhone models, including the iPhone 11, have also had their batteries calibrated. Correcting the calibration can help users get erroneous battery health readings.
