According to Bloomberg, the “advanced stage of development” for Apple’s next iMac has been achieved. Gurman stated that the next iMac would have the same 24-inch display size and color options as the present one in his newsletter today.
Gurman predicts that Apple’s impending M3 CPU, internal design modifications, and a new stand production technique will all be included in the new iMac. According to reports, the M3 processor would be produced using the most recent 3nm process used by Apple chipmaking partner TSMC to enhance performance and power efficiency.
Apple last upgraded the iMac with the M1 chip and an ultra-thin enclosure available in seven colors—green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver—in April 2021. As the 27-inch Intel-based iMac and iMac Pro were discontinued within the last two years, there is presently only one iMac available from Apple. Gurman previously asserted that a larger iMac would be released again, but he provided no fresh information regarding that possibility today.
Gurman predicts that the new iMac will debut by the second half of 2023.
