Sony predicts improved sales for PlayStation VR2 compared to the first viewer

PlayStation VR2 sales will be higher than the first PlayStation 4 headset, Hiroki Totoki, Sony’s chief financial officer, expressed his enthusiasm for the launch of the new set during the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference.

PlayStation VR has fared well given the type of product and the cost beyond everyone’s reach, with around 5 million units sold between 2016 and 2019. Obviously, given the numbers at the time of the PlayStation VR2 launch, Sony is looking to go even further. .

We are very excited about the launch of PlayStation VR2 on PS5. We have sold over 5 million PlayStation VR units and I think we have a good chance of surpassing that number with PlayStation VR2.

Sony has always been a strong believer in VR, as evidenced by the fact that its next generation viewer came out a few days ago. This is a sector that Totoki says will experience significant growth compared to other entertainment industries and will continue to grow in the coming years.

We remind you that the PlayStation VR2 is available with a truly enviable launch lineup, enriched with games for every taste. However, Horizon Call of the Mountain, Gran Turismo 7, and Resident Evil Village stand out among the many.
