Microsoft confirms Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile to take over from Call of Duty: Mobile

Call of Duty: Mobile will be retired and replaced by Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile over the next few months. This is evidenced by some documents that have appeared during the negotiations for the acquisition of Activision-Blizzard by Microsoft, although there is no confirmation or official comment yet.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will appear this year and should gradually replace the old Call of Duty: Mobile. Given the huge success of the new battle royale, it was only a matter of time before the experience was transferred to mobile devices, as the game is already available in some regions and will reach global distribution by the end of 2023.

In its CMA response, Microsoft named two games, explaining that CoD: Mobile should be discontinued with the launch of Warzone Mobile. Activision has never spoken about the future of its game, but the likelihood that the acquisition will take place makes one rely on the words that appeared in the document. So Call of Duty: Mobile players should be prepared to lose their game in favor of a new iteration.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will feature traditional multiplayer with Team Deathmatch 6v6 and Domination matches on two Modern Warfare Scrapyard and Superstore maps. Other maps may come later, but for now, we’re nowhere near the wealth of scenarios, modes, and weapons found in Call of Duty: Mobile Mobile.
