Announcement of Menzoberranzan Expansion’s Release Date in Neverwinter

Gearbox Publishing and Cryptic Studios announce that the Menzoberranzan expansion for Never winter will be released on March 28 for PS4 and Xbox One. The press release contains additional information:

Players are now being offered for the first time Never winter the chance to explore the drow town of Menzoberranzan, believed to be the legendary home of legendary D&D character Drizzt Do’Urden. In this new adventure, inspired by RA Salvatore’s popular book series Way of the Drow, players will meet popular D&D characters such as Drizzt and experience firsthand the events that transpire between the final two books, Glacier’s Edge and Lolth’s Warrior.

Following the events of Northdark Reaches and reuniting with scout Braelin Janquay, Jarlaxle Baenre, leader of the Bregan D’aerthe mercenary force, has returned to Menzoberranzan. With civil war looming, rumors are circulating about a longforgotten artifact that could turn the tide in Lolth’s favor. Should such power fall into the wrong hands, the Underdark would fall into chaos. To avoid a civil war, players must join the exDrinns of Blasphemy to plunge into the depths and save Menzoberranzan from destruction!

Heroes who heed Jarlaxle Baenre’s call for help will come in Never winter Discover lots of new content, including the brand new adventure zone Menzoberranzan. To survive the deadly streets of this infamous drow city, players must evade patrols and evade lurking assassins. As they explore this region of the Underdark, they’ll take on new quests, meet old friends, and face new foes in challenging battles for epic rewards.

For the 10th anniversary of Never winter have fans of Dungeons & Dragons and Never winterPlayers a chance to challenge the deity Gzemnid and loot rare treasures. Attracted by the terrifying potential of the powerful Eye of Odran artifact, Gzemnid has taken physical form in his reliquary, awaiting those foolish or brave enough to defy a spectator god. In addition to this trial version, the new expansion also offers several gameplay improvements such as adjustments to the balance of the companion, changes to the badges in the mount system, and new rewards for all date event stores.
