Microsoft has Registered The Trademark for Ender Dragon for Use in Connection With Video Games, Toys, and Other Products_

According to a recent trademark application on Justia, Microsoft just filed for the “Ender Dragon” trademark for video games. There are also trademarks for toys, literature, and clothes in addition to video games.

The trademark has been linked to the canceled Scalebound series by many online commenters. The “game-ending” boss in Minecraft is the Ender Dragon. According to the filing, Mojang may prepare a spinoff or standalone game for the franchise, similar to Minecraft Legends.

Unfortunately, the filing discloses what is planned, but making assumptions is always entertaining.

The largest naturally spawning mob in Minecraft is the Ender Dragon. In the original game, it served as the end gateways’ protector. The exit portal, via which players can leave the end and return to the overworld and gain access to the game’s end credits, becomes accessible after defeating the Ender Dragon.

Notch, the man behind Minecraft, predicted that someday “There will be various dragons” in 2011. The main world dragons will be this size, unable to traverse terrain, and red because dragons are red, whereas the Ender Dragon will likely grow. Sadly, Notch’s comments did not result in anything, but they would be perfect for a different Minecraft-related game.

What would Ender Dragon be, in your opinion?
