Assemble Entertainment points out that Squad 51 against the flying saucers is available for Switch. A new trailer for the shoot’em up accompanies the good news, and the press release provides additional information:
Adorned with the aesthetics of 1950s scifi movies, presented Group 51 a black and white look that didn’t exist in the SHMUP genre. Elaborately produced cutscenes from Brazilian indie film studio Fehorama Films tell a story of resistance and the fight against evil in the iconic 1950s style. The cutscenes in it Group 51 are professionally filmed with real actors for a cinematic experience between maneuvers. The alien shoot ’em up Group 51 is inspired by 1950s scifi icons such as ‘War of the Worlds’, ‘Godzilla’, ‘Dr. Strangelove’ and ‘Plan 9 from space’. Across 11 different levels, the Squad 51 crew blast their way in single player coop or on the couch battling the horrendous director Zarog. The evil leader is responsible for an alien invasion on Earth and it’s time to fight for the freedom of mankind.
