A new iOS 16 feature called Live Activities makes it simpler to follow current activities, like a sporting event or a food delivery request. The current score, quarter, remaining time, and other pertinent information are displayed in a banner on the iPhone’s Lock Screen while an NBA game is in progress. The Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro models also display the score.

NBA games were already supported via Live Activities on the Apple TV app. The NBA app is now where the functionality is accessible. Live Activities support was added to the official MLB app earlier this month. The NCAA March Madness app will also add support for the feature, and it was announced last week. Other apps like Sports Alerts provide live Activities integration for many sports leagues.
