Recent Updates to Windows 11 have Caused Issues With the Game Red Dead Redemption 2

After releasing an update for the Windows 11 operating system on March 28 (KB5023774), Microsoft damaged Red Dead Redemption 2 almost immediately after the update was installed. Users with KB5023774 installed cannot access the game using the Rockstar Games Launcher; however, there is no need for concern as Microsoft is working on a solution.

A preview update known as KB5023774 is included in Windows 11 21H2, a version of Windows 11 that is one version below the most recent stable release. Microsoft’s mitigation efforts come into play at this point. The software giant has revealed that to recover access to your rootin’-tootin” cowboy escapades, you must upgrade to the most recent version, 22H2.

Microsoft and Rockstar Games have combined their resources to investigate this matter thoroughly. Despite this, the alternative solution that has been developed is quite thorough. In most cases, a technical team will seek to find a lasting solution for the underlying cause of an incident while minimizing the negative effects that the incident will have on the business by developing a workaround or a “temporary repair.”

Naturally, some media believe that Microsoft has no interest in resolving the problem. Instead, it depends on the dismissive order of “simply upgrade it” to resolve the core cause of the fault, even though this is probably not the case. Microsoft has made it abundantly apparent that this workaround is a mitigation attempt rather than a remedy, so… So much for it.

Suppose you want to acquire access to Red Dead Redemption 2 more or less immediately, though. In that case, you need to update your Windows 11 version. It is totally up to you to decide.
