Players Find Open World as Biggest Challenge in Hogwarts Legacy

A couple of months after release, Hogwarts Legacy players managed to discover what they consider to be the biggest problem with Avalanche Software’s game: the open world. Well, yes, most of the users see what should really be one of the strengths of the whole title as a rather serious problem.

As Gamingbible immediately reported, players stated on Reddit that the main negative element of the game is actually the management of the game world with side missions, including the infamous Merlin Trials, which are clearly too repetitive and even rather low quality. According to them, in fact, many of them look like real loot quests, inserted into the title by the development team just to make the product more durable.

But as if that weren’t enough, Trials of Merlin also suffers from another major problem: it’s the only way to increase inventory slots in the Hogwarts Legacy. Reddit user t00tfruit stated the following:

“I finally got my Alohomora to 3 and was so excited to start exploring the world until I found out what it really means. Over half of the secondary ‘content’ is the gruesome Trials of Merlin and the same rework of 2-3 treasure chests (probably AI generated).”

“It baffles me that they actually managed to make spin-off content worse than Ubisoft” – oops! It’s really soulless side content,” u/t00tfruit said instead, while another Hogwarts Legacy player instead posted the following message:

“Obviously, the developers were thinking about creating this big and beautiful open world with addictive gameplay and art, and then adding that content so that players had as little fun as possible, to the point of being completely afraid to see new icons appear on the map” .

Minus this criticism to share, we remind you that Hogwarts Legacy is now available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, coming to PS4 and Xbox One on May 5, and then on July 25, 2023 on Nintendo Switch . .

In all this, we note that in recent weeks, players have discovered an easter egg dedicated to Robbie Coltrane, the actor of Hagrid.
