Podcasts are now available to listen to in the United States on both the YouTube Music website and the YouTube Music app for iOS devices, as was revealed by Google. Users who use the primary YouTube app to watch podcasts can now continue listening to them through YouTube Music.
There is no need to have a Premium account to listen to podcasts on YouTube Music because they are completely free. Podcasts may be accessed on demand, even when the user is not connected to the internet; they can be played in the background or while casting, and users can switch between the audio and video versions.
According to Google, the podcast listening experience available on YouTube Music is intended to supplement the current video podcast experience. The Podcasts area may be accessed by selecting the Home tab and then tapping on the Podcasts section that appears at the top of the screen.
The Explore feature allows users to locate notable podcasts based on categories such as gaming, music, true crime, comedy, health and fitness, business, and society and culture. In addition, a search button allows users to locate specific pieces of content.
Starting today, users in the United States will be able to access podcasts through the YouTube Music app. However, Google has stated that support will be added “gradually,” meaning podcasts may take a few days to become available in the YouTube Music app and on the website. Although access to podcasts is currently only available in the United States, Google plans to expand that availability to include other regions soon.
