When neighborhoods combine to do miracles, it almost always makes for a compelling narrative. It’s healthy to remind ourselves that many good things are still happening in the world, whether it’s a pizza delivery man rescuing a family from a burning building or a gang of rough motorcyclists stopping at a kid’s lemonade stand. Aside from enormous amounts of alcohol and major athletic events, one of the few activities capable of bringing a large number of people together is assisting those in need. Ordinary Angels, a movie released soon by Lionsgate, will, thankfully, concentrate more on the former than on the latter.
Ordinary Angels will feature a high-profile ensemble working together to overcome the might of nature itself, all in the interest of saving an innocent little child. The film is based on the real snowstorm that hit Louisville, Kentucky, in 1994. If that doesn’t inspire you, nothing else will. Ordinary Angels is a film that virtually everyone involved is excited to be a part of. It will be released later this year. The film demonstrates how any challenge can be overcome by combining enough minds to find a solution. This is the extent of our knowledge regarding Ordinary Angels up to the time when the movie will finally be released.

What is the Plot of Ordinary Angels?
The official plot synopsis provided by Lionsgate is as follows:
“Based on a remarkable true story, ORDINARY ANGELS centers on Sharon Steves (Hilary Swank), a fierce but struggling hairdresser in small-town Kentucky who discovers a renewed sense of purpose when she meets Ed Schmitt (Alan Ritchson), a widower working hard to make ends meet for his two daughters. With his youngest daughter waiting for a liver transplant, Sharon sets her mind to helping the family and will move mountains to do it. What unfolds is the inspiring tale of faith, everyday miracles, and ordinary angels.”
It would not be surprising if Sharon Steves donated her liver to Ed Schmitt’s kid. However, things may seem more complex than they are. Instead, for Ed’s family to get to the hospital in time for his daughter’s organ transplant, they would have to travel 600 miles across a snow-covered Kentucky. For Ed and his daughter, Sharon will have to “move mountains” worth of snow to assist.
You probably already know how hazardous the flaky white stuff can be if you’ve ever had to deal with a sudden snowfall. Roads covered in black ice, unstable snow embankments that may collapse if you don’t tread carefully, and the possibility of flooding are all distinct challenges that Sharon and Ed will need to overcome. As a result of this, it will be fascinating to witness the kind of inventiveness that is normally reserved for times of crisis. We hope there won’t be any amputations like in the movie 127 Hours. Still, things like homemade snow plows or alternative routes through the cold will be a terrific way to illustrate what can be done when people work together. This will be a great way to demonstrate what can be done.
