The staff reductions come when Deviation Games is working on a new intellectual property scheduled to be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

In 2021, Deviation Games and Sony came to an arrangement about publishing their games. Dave Anthony, who was the company’s CEO at the time, stated that the organization was thrilled about the chance and well prepared for it.

“He confidently expressed our unwavering commitment to our lofty aspirations: we are embarking on creating an immense, content-packed game that revolves around abundant action and exuberant energy. However, let’s withhold further details for now, eagerly anticipating the imminent opportunity to divulge more,” he stated.

After a year, Jason Blundell, who had helped start the company and served as its chief creative officer, would quit. There was never any explanation provided for his leaving given to the public.
