Colt Seavers, a stuntman out of work, is approached by his ex-girlfriend, who is making her big-budget Hollywood directing debut, to be the stuntman for a hot up-and-coming action star who is a complete jerk. The story of The Fall Guy follows Colt Seavers as he accepts the invitation. When the actor goes missing, it is up to Colt to locate him and rescue him from the seedy underbelly of Hollywood. He does this in the hopes of reuniting with an old flame, rescuing the movie, and demonstrating that he is the most skilled stuntman in the business.

Colt Seavers, played by Lee Majors and a stuntman who moonlighted as a bounty hunter, was the main character of the original television show, which followed an adventure-of-the-week premise. The program had a very tongue-in-cheek vibe, featuring some remarkable stunts and effective action sequences for its time and budget. The tone of the film adaption is moving in a completely other direction. It would be interesting to watch how Leitch handles comedic elements and action sequences while presenting a gripping story about a world he is quite familiar with.

“David comes from stunts and narrating a story of a stuntman coming into his own via the course of having to investigate a crime. Since we get to perform a lot of actual action on this issue, [it is] a unique opportunity for us. We usually do, but in this particular instance, it is a significant step that can be taken. We pay homage to the stunt community, cinema, and those of us working in the film industry. In addition to that, it is a kind of ode to the business world. In addition to that, I want it to be entertaining and something that will give the audience a great time.
