Square Enix to Launch More High-Quality Big Games
Medium/Long-term Reshuffle
Speaking during its latest financial briefing, Square Enix revealed its intention to launch more higher quality big games going forward as it gears up for the highly anticipated release of Final Fantasy XVI. The publisher confirmed plans for a “medium/long-term reshuffle” that will see Square Enix focus on titles with “global appeal,” and “create a pipeline enabling regular launches of major tiles.”
Stabilizing Earnings
Speaking to investors, the company said it is working to “stabilise earnings” by growing subscriptions to Final Fantasy 14 and Dragon Quest 10, as well as its mobile/browser titles. In addition, Square Enix commented that the income from those titles will “enable continued investment in content with a focus on the development of HD games,” which is how the studio refers to high-quality console and PC projects.
