Yakitori Soldiers of Misfortune Plot
A superior alien civilization has colonized Earth, so Akira’s only chance for a better future is to join the Yakitori army as a disposable foot soldier,” Netflix says about the show.
In the story, the main character is a young man named Akira Ihotsu. He lives on a future Earth that is ruled by Shoren, the Pan-Star System Trade Federation. He spends his days rebelling against this society. One day, a “cook” for Shoren named Pumpkin spots him and asks him to join the planetary orbital infantry force Yakitori. He does this to get away from the closed Japanese society.
It is said to be a cruel unit whose missions have an average death rate of 70%, which is shockingly high. Akira and other outcasts from different countries stand up to their fates and fight to stay alive against the aliens on Mars. Will he meet his sad end, or will this chance allow him to start over and live the life he has always dreamed of?
