Since its premiere in 2013, AdultSwim’s critically acclaimed cartoon sitcom Rick and Morty has been a mainstay on our screens for the past 10 years. You are probably aware that throughout the series, you will follow Morty and his Grandpa Rick as they embark on various otherworldly adventures.
After the conclusion of season 6, there will likely be only 50 episodes remaining of the massive upfront order that Rick and Morty received for 70 episodes in 2018. Despite the recent difficulties encountered with one of the show’s creators, we are aware that it has been renewed at this time, at least through the tenth season.
There was a time when Netflix controlled all international licensing rights to the Rick and Morty show, except for those in the United States. However, due to the launch of HBO Max and undoubtedly many other factors, the show has now been withdrawn from Netflix in various territories. It is only available in at least 17 of Netflix’s global markets. As we have discussed, the license was up for renewal in August 2022, which resulted in numerous territories losing the show.
When will Rick and Morty season 6 be available on Netflix in the United States?
We anticipate that future seasons of Rick and Morty will never be available to stream on Netflix in the United States. This is because it is only available to stream on Hulu and HBO Max and is unique to AdultSwim.
Although Warner Bros. Discovery has hinted that it may license more titles to Netflix and other companies in the future, there needs to be an indication that Rick and Morty will be one of those titles.
Late in 2017, we browsed through Netflix and selected a few shows we thought would be good substitutes for the Rick and Morty series.

New episodes of Rick and Morty are added to Netflix UK, but only after they have first shown on Channel 4, which had an exclusive channel for the show.
In the United Kingdom (UK), Season 5 premiered on E4 in June 2021, and then it was available on Netflix UK in March 2022. This indicated that Channel 4 had an exclusive window of opportunity for six months.
We expected that the sixth season of Rick and Morty would premiere sometime around the summer of 2023, and we have just received word that the season will premiere in its entirety on June 12 of that year.
