The action-adventure video game Sekiro is played from a third-person perspective and takes place in Japan. The novel’s events occur during the Sengoku period and follow the exploits of a shinobi known as Wolf. Over five million copies of the Souls video game have been successfully sold since the game’s release.
It is not unheard of for popular video game franchises to be adapted into anime, and Sekiro is only one example of this phenomenon. Pokemon was adapted into an animated series in the early 1990s, and production of new episodes has continued. Persona 5, Cyberpunk: Edgerunner, and Nier: Automata are some examples of video games that were released more recently.
Given the recent popularity of many adaptations, it should not come as a surprise that there will be additional video game anime adaptations.
On Twitter, a well-known leaker in the anime world has asserted that an anime version of the video game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be produced.

The initial tweet, published on May 18, had a GIF of a samurai and was accompanied by the emojis for a Japanese Goblin and Crossed Swords.
This was followed by a quotation retweet that further explained: “Two samurai games: one is a cross-platform game, and the other is a PlayStation exclusive.” Wasn’t that a piece of cake?
A third response was finally issued, confirming one of the games: “ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE ANIMATED VERSION OF ‘Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice’ FORTHCOMING! Naturally, a Japanese production company is responsible for its creation.

Ghosts of Tsushima was strongly implied to be the other game that would be adapted into an anime series. However, this rumor has yet to be proven. It meets the bill as a PlayStation-exclusive game revolving around the culture of the samurai.
Sony is on board with this idea and is considering adapting some of its most successful games into movies. The movie adaptation of Uncharted was released in February 2022, while the next Gran Turismo movie is scheduled to come out in August 2023.
