The name of film director Martin Scorsese is frequently spoken in the same breath as iconic movies about tough guys and mobsters. However, in his upcoming feature, Killers of the Flower Moon, the director will make his first attempt at the Western genre, which will be a new challenge for him. The film, which is an adaptation of the nonfiction book Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI written by journalist David Grann in 2017, relates the story of at least twenty members of the Osage Tribe who were murdered in Oklahoma during the 1920s. The film was released in 2018.
It wasn’t until 2021 that filming the much-anticipated movie based on Grann’s book got underway, even though the film rights to Grann’s book were sold in 2016, a full year before the book was even published. Martin Scorsese was hired to direct the movie after many other directors indicated an interest in the concept but still needed to officially commit to working on it. The COVID-19 epidemic caused production to be delayed until the middle of 2021, when it was originally scheduled to start in March 2020. This is the information that we currently have regarding the project.

What is the Plot of Killers of the Flower Moon?
The novel Killers of the Flower Moon relates the account of a conspiracy that took place from 1921 through 1925 and targeted approximately sixty members of the Osage tribe. In the latter half of the 19th century, the Osage Indian Tribe of Oklahoma was granted the right to benefit from the enormous oil deposits discovered on their land. This occurred in the state of Oklahoma. Because the Osage people could make tens of millions of dollars on their own, their nation was considered one of the world’s wealthiest nations. The affluence caused the federal government to become anxious to the point where it appointed white guardians to “assist” in managing the finances. It caused communities that hadn’t been so fortunate to strike it rich to be filled with deadly envy. And by 1921, these negative attitudes quickly turned to violence when the body of a wealthy Osage woman was uncovered in the woods. This incident took place in 1921. By 1925, the Osage tribe had lost at least sixty more prosperous individuals. The Federal Bureau of Inquiry got involved in the inquiry, and Agent Tom White was in charge of it. White was able to unearth a complex conspiracy being hatched by a local cattleman named William Hale to obtain control of the Osage oil. To strengthen his nephew Ernest Burkhart’s claim to the land, Hale persuaded him to wed Mollie Kile, an Osage native woman. This was done. Under Scorsese’s guidance, it is probably safe to conclude that this tale of racism, murder, betrayal, and money will be transformed into a gritty and dramatic film.
