Where does the second season pick up the story? The supplementary episodes will span volumes 8 to 12 of the manga, bringing the story to its conclusion at Hell’s Requiem.

In addition, Netflix has published an expanded plot summary for the upcoming second season, which reads as follows:

“The Dark Rebel Army, which intends to resurrect the god of destruction Anthrasax, continues to extend its strength in an attempt to conquer the planet, lead by the immensely powerful Four Divine Kings. Their goal is to establish themselves as the dominant force in the universe. The Dark Rebel Army, which a sorcerer leads, launches an assault on the Kingdom of Metallicana, located on the Central Metallion Continent. Tia Noto Yoko, daughter of the Great Priest, must decide whether or not she would resurrect the great old wizard who once plotted to dominate the world and is currently locked within her childhood companion Lucien Renren to preserve the kingdom. If she chooses to do so, she can save the land. The only thing that can break the spell is a kiss from a virgin to another virgin. Yoko presses her lips to Lucien’s as she runs into an immediate threat. At that very instant, dark and potent energy permeates the atmosphere.

During the live stream that was previously mentioned (which can be viewed here), the producer Tsuruoka provided us with new information regarding Hell’s Requiem. He stated that “The story goes well beyond the story depicted in the additional episodes,” and he also stated that “This storyline was the most popular in the manga.” The story introduces a large number of new characters, and it also shows the decisive confrontation between Dark Schneider and Kall-Su. Hell’s Requiem will consist of 15 episodes, each giving a certain aspect of this portion of the plot.

Tsuruoka, when asked how far along the production of the series is, replied, “Production started a while back, so we’ve recorded a lot of it already.” The production of the series started a while back.
