EA Sports and Nike Partner with Web3 Platform for NFT Integration

EA Sports and Nike have teamed up with the digital community experience, .Swoosh platform, to push the boundaries of what is possible in the world of video games. The primary goal of this partnership is to fuse the creativity and expressiveness of users with the world of video games, all with non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in mind.

Going forward, EA and Nike intend to make select .Swoosh creations available in EA Sports titles, providing platform members and gamers with new and unique ways to express themselves creatively in the realm of sports and fashion.

According to EuroGamer, the .Swoosh platform was launched in November 2022 and is currently in beta. The platform aims to offer an inclusive and equitable space for athletes, creatives, collectors and everyday users who want to create and own the future of sports.

Recently, .Swoosh launched a collection of virtual sneakers, available as NFTs in boxes with random contents that owners could choose whether to open or not. This emphasis on NFTs could also apply to partnerships with EA, even if it is not officially mentioned.

Ron Faris, General Manager of Nike Virtual Studios, remarked on the partnership, “Nike and EA Sports are committed to innovation, creativity, and excellence, and we’re thrilled to be collaborating. This partnership will allow us to provide amazing new opportunities for our .Swoosh community and EA Sports’ huge fan base.”

This partnership between EA Sports, Nike and the .Swoosh platform is an exciting development for the gaming and sportswear industries. It could unlock new avenues for creativity and expression in video games that have never been seen before, with a focus on the emerging, exciting technology of non-fungible tokens.
