The last few movies with everyone’s favorite vigilante with a bat theme have been a mess. After Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, which was amazing and almost impossible to top, whoever wore the Batsuit after Christian Bale was sure to feel much pressure. That was true for Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne in the DCEU. Even though people didn’t like him at first, Affleck was a good Batman overall, but the very violent versions of him in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017) turned off many fans. DC’s first attempt to connect its movies was messy and caused much controversy, so it was clear that the next Batman needed a fresh start. The Batman, which came out in 2022 and was directed by Matt Reeves, gave us a harsh and dirty version of Gotham City and one of the darkest stories ever seen in a Batman movie.
The neo-noir detective takes on The Dark Knight were praised by critics and fans for their beautiful visuals and sound, intense and visceral action scenes, and great performances by Robert Pattinson, Colin Farrell, and Paul Dano. So, the “Batverse” created by Matt Reeves was born in a big way, with plans for many sequels and spin-off shows. But there was worry that the Batverse would be lost in the Warner Bros. and DC shake-ups, which have already led to shocking changes like the cancellation of Batgirl. These fears were put to rest on January 31, 2023, when DC Studios Co-CEO James Gunn announced the upcoming DC content and made it clear that Matt Reeves’ vision for Batman will stay the same. The Batman – Part II (2025), now known as an “Elseworlds” story, is still being made, just like all of the spin-offs announced soon after the first movie came out. This is great news for people who liked the first movie, but we still have to wait two years for Robert Pattinson to play Bruce Wayne again.
Here is everything we know about The Batman – Part II so far.

What is The Batman 2 Plot?
Batman puts our hero and Gotham City in a situation that has never been done before in a Batman movie. Bruce Wayne may have stopped The Riddler from killing Gotham’s new mayor-elect, Bella Reál, but the whole city is now underwater. Gotham City is likely vulnerable to a hostile takeover because of the well-known No Man’s Land storyline and Scott Snyder’s New 52 run Zero Year.
Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves said they would like to bring in the Court of Owls and Dick Grayson, aka Robin, as a sidekick. The Court of Owls is a secret society running Gotham for decades. It comprises Gotham’s most influential and corrupt families and groups. Matt Reeves has shown he is very good at big projects, so introducing this group of bad guys would be right in his wheelhouse.
Introducing Dick Grayson into the Court would be a significant departure from the norm for Robin. The Court typically takes kids from the Circus and transforms them into skilled assassins known as Talons. This move would be risky since Grayson hails from The Flying Graysons circus act.
