Bandai Namco shows the launch trailer Baten Kaitos Ⅰ & Ⅱ HD Remasters. The double pack has been available for Switch since September 15, and the press release provides additional information:
The BATEN KAITOS series features cardbased RPG mechanics that allow players to make decisions in seconds and get closer to victory. In both titles, players take on the role of a guardian spirit and guide the protagonist and his companions through a special adventure:
- BATEN KAITOS: ETERNAL WINGS AND THE LOST OCEAN tells the story of Kalas, who seeks revenge for the deaths of his brother and grandfather. While on a journey to defeat the Alfard Empire, he meets Xelha.
- BATEN KAITOS ORIGINS takes place twenty years before the events of the first game. The story revolves around Sagi, who has a connection with guardian spirits and is part of the Dark Service, an elite unit of the Alfgar Empire. After being vilified, he sets out on a journey to clear his name and unravel the secrets of the empire.
BATEN KAITOS I & II HD REMASTER expands the gameplay of the original games with new features. The remaster includes an ‘Instant KO’ setting that allows players to defeat enemies with a single attack, making the game significantly faster. In addition, there is a “No Encounters” option that can be used to avoid battles, as well as other adjustments that aid game progression.
