Nintendo’s Smash Bros. Ultimate Amiibo Series Comes to an End with Sora Release and Packaging Change

Recent articles

Get ready to say goodbye to the Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo line as the final release, the Sora amiibo, is set to arrive on February 16th, 2024. This marks the end of an era for amiibo collectors and fans of the game. But it’s not just the release of the Sora amiibo that’s making waves – Nintendo is also changing up the amiibo box art for this final release.

The back of Sora’s box features a new, generic piece of art with just a few details on amiibo in general, a departure from the original packaging used for all other amiibo releases. This change reflects the end of an era, as the 3DS and Wii U, which are featured on the original packaging, are now things of the past. It’s a bittersweet moment for fans, as the new design signifies the end as something special, but also takes away a bit of tradition.

As the Smash Bros. amiibo line comes to a close, fans are left wondering if there will ever be another amiibo released by Nintendo. While we don’t know the answer to that question yet, one thing is for sure – the Sora amiibo marks the end of an era for the Smash Bros. amiibo series.
