Latest RPCS3 version offers major performance improvements in resistance 1 and 2 in addition to the Ratchet & Clank series

The newest RPCS3 build makes a lot of games run much faster, like the Ratchet & Clank series by Insomniac and the original Resistance 1 and 2.

Patches released last year for the first Resistance episodes already made them run much faster, but now both games can be played at 60 frames per second in RPCS3. Also, many long-standing problems with the emulator have been fixed, making the Ratchet and Clank PS3 games much more playable, with only small performance drops stopping them.

The developers of the best PS3 PC emulator say that they have recently fixed long-standing problems with particles not appearing in the Resistance and Ratchet & Clank games. They have also made the emulator much more stable in situations where VRAM was being overused.

The games that work with the newest version of RPCS3 can be seen in the video below:

That is a pretty impressive accomplishment. Interested parties can download the latest version of RPCS3 from the project’s official website. There, you can also find different tips on how to play PS3 games on PC.

RPCS3 is an open-source Sony PlayStation 3 emulator and cross-platform debugger written in C++ for Windows, Linux, and BSD. It was founded by programmers DH and Hykem. Initially hosted on Google Code, the project was migrated to GitHub later in development. RPCS3’s first successful boots were mainly composed of small homemade projects and hardware tests. The emulator was later released publicly in June 2012 and received a lot of attention from both the open source community and PlayStation enthusiasts. Today, RPCS3 is mainly developed by its two main developers; Nekotekina, kd-11 and supported by a thriving team of GitHub contributors.
