Apple originally intended to create a vehicle with no steering wheel or pedals that might resemble Canoo's Lifestyle Vehicle, allowing passengers to sit face-to-face. However, the project has been scaled back.

The car will no longer be capable of fully autonomous driving; instead, it will have a more conventional design with a driver's seat, steering wheel, and pedals. The vehicle can still operate in self-driving mode on highways.

Starting at around $47,000, Tesla vehicles can cost over $100,000. If the starting price of the Apple Car is close to $100,000, it will go up against the more expensive Model S from Tesla.
