It Has Been Announced That About 10% of CD Projekt Red's Workforce Will Be Let Go

An update on the company released today on the CDPR website stated that there will be layoffs of roughly 10% of the workforce at the company owing to 'overstaffing.' The CDPR has emphasized giving team members time to transition and giving them a 'complete severance compensation.'

It was stated that after careful evaluation, about one hundred staff members will be made redundant over the next few months.

This is the third round of layoffs that have taken place within CDPR since the beginning of the year. About sixty team employees were let go across two different windows in May.

CD Projekt Red

It was noted in the organizational update that CD Projekt Red wants to become leaner and more agile, and the company is actively pursuing this desire. Having such a large number of employees on the payroll is completely illogical.

CD Projekt Red

In the words of Adam Kicinski, CEO of CD Projekt, the company has "too many people doing too much work."

CD Projekt Red

We’ve carefully assessed all teams in the company in terms of their expected contribution to the delivery of our strategy. There’s no easy way to say this, but today we are overstaffed.

CD Projekt Red

We have talented people on board who are finishing their tasks and – based on current and expected project needs – we already know we don’t have other opportunities for them in the next year.
