Samsung QLED TV has just dropped to the lowest price ever, and there is even more good news

If you want to treat yourself to a brand new television to enjoy box sets, blockbusters and football games this summer, there has never been a better time to get your hands on a QLED from Samsung. To celebrate the holiday weekend, .

For those who don’t know all the acronyms inside out, QLED stands for Quantum Light-Emitting Diode, also known as Quantum Dot Display. In short, QLED works like the standard LED TVs – meaning there is a backlight made up of hundreds or thousands of LEDs that illuminate the individual pixels. QLED improves upon the standard LED by using nanoparticles – known as quantum dots – to supercharge the brightness and color of these individual pixels.

As a result, everything displayed on the screen should be more vibrant, colorful and pleasing to the eye.

While it sounds like they should be fairly similar, it’s worth remembering that QLED is not the same as OLED. While QLED is a step up (in quality and price) from LED, OLED is even more expensive. As you would expect, it is even more capable of producing vibrant colors and hollow blacks. That’s because OLED – or Organic Light-Emitting Diode – panels don’t rely on a uniform backlight. Instead, each individual pixel is an LED that can be turned on and off to create color or total darkness.

As you would expect from Samsung – the best-selling television brand in the past fifteen years – the QLED panel also supports HDR. HDR, which stands for High Dynamic Range, kicks in when viewing HDR-compatible content and helps keep finer details intact in extreme lighting conditions. So gloomy scenes in a movie lit by sunlight from a single window will keep them from fanning out or becoming too muddy. Samsung naturally supports HDR10 +, which it has contributed to, which provides even more color details than standard HDR.
