PlayStation Showcase PS5 Event Announced by Sony – Start Time and Date Revealed (Image: SONY)
PS5 gamers have an important date to mark in their calendars. Sony today confirmed the date of their next big PS5 gaming event, with a PlayStation Showcase stream taking place next week. The PS5 event will take place on Thursday, September 9 with a start time of 1:00 PM Pacific Time and 9:00 PM BST.
Sony said the PS5 event will reveal more about the “future of PS5” and bring updates from PlayStation Studios and “leading developers”.
Sony has confirmed that the upcoming PS5 event will last approximately 40 minutes and will feature updates from developers big and small.
However, the PlayStation makers warned fans not to expect any news about the next-generation PS VR headset.
In an online blog post discussing what gamers can expect, Sid Shuman – senior director of SIE Content Communications – said: “You’ve been incredibly patient and we want to thank you. And now we look forward to showing you what we’ve been working on.
Come down next Thursday, September 9 at 1:00 PM Pacific Time / 9:00 PM BST / 10:00 PM CEST for a glimpse into the future of PS5. The Showcase will run for approximately 40 minutes and will include updates from PlayStation Studios and some of the industry’s most imaginative developers for games released this holiday season and beyond.

“One thing to note: the next generation VR from PlayStation won’t be out this time. But there will still be plenty of great PS5 games from developers big and small. We hope you’ll be there!”
