Bungie is bringing back the Trials of Osiris event this week, complete with a new roster of items, weapons and impeccable rewards.

The Trials will begin at approximately 6:00 PM GMT and will allow Destiny 2 gamers to compete against others in 3vs3 crucial battles.

Osiris rewards won’t be known until the event kicks off, and it may take a while to figure out the full loot list.

It will be Guardians who will have to do the hard work, as Bungie rarely gives advance directions, and this week only confirms that the Endless Vale will be the official card pick.

Trials now offer a seven win challenge, which will be available from Saint-14, and yields the Adept Flawless loot.

Reputation win per match has been scaled based on the number of round wins on a ticket, and trial passes are now within the account scope.

Bungie has also confirmed that they have reduced the round time to 90 seconds, with each round starting with fresh special ammunition.

Cross-Play must be enabled to participate in Trials of Osiris, which also requires the purchase of the current annual expansion.

And Bungie has confirmed that there will be a new set of experimental rules that will be in effect throughout the weekend.

The Capture Zone Lab will be in attendance, meaning Trials of Osiris will still be focused on elimination this weekend.

While much of the gameplay remains the same, Guardians will notice these changes to the normal rules:

30 seconds after the round starts, a capture zone is enabled. Players can conquer this zone to win the round, or simply take out the opposing team as normal.

The capture zone has a waypoint from the start of the round, including a countdown timer, so everyone knows exactly when and where it will be.

The capture zone starts in the center of the map in the first round and changes location each round.

And Bungie has also confirmed that they’ve made further changes since Capture Zone was last active, including the following:

Instead of rotating through points that give one team a significant location advantage, we rotate through three neutral zones: one at Temple, one at Mid, and one at Shrine.

Players no longer gain super energy when they conquer a zone, both before and after the end of the round.

Card-based matchmaking is on all weekend, with the Flawless Pool on Sunday mornings at 10am. As with the previous two Labs, there will be a 2x Trials Rank booster all weekend.
