Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League video game has been delayed from its initial May release date to sometime in the fourth quarter of 2023, as per a report by Jez Corden from Windowscentral.
In a recent tweet, Corden mentioned that even though he was still seeking solid confirmation, he was fairly confident that the game’s release would be postponed.
Following a gameplay preview at Sony’s State of Play event in February, the game faced significant backlash online, primarily due to the introduction of a Battle Pass system and the necessity of an online connection for the single-player component.
The forthcoming action-adventure game, taking place five years after the storyline of Batman: Arkham Knight, has been developed by Rocksteady Studios. According to Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, who expressed, “Due to the premise, you have a game where any of the key characters can theoretically die, and it’s not a stunt,” the game was first announced to be in the works back in July 2010, as reported by Kotaku.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is scheduled to launch on May 26 for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
Jason Schreier from Bloomberg has corroborated Corden’s claims. Additionally, industry insider Jeff Grubb shared on the Games Mess podcast that the game’s delay had been extended to 2024.
