Notably, the Pixel 8 guarantees seven years of software updates encompassing new Android versions, security patches, and exclusive Pixel updates known as “feature drops.” Conversely, the Pixel 7 will only receive Android updates for three years, with the latest update slated to end in October 2025. Camera
The camera setups on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 7 are quite comparable, featuring a 50-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. With guaranteed updates for seven years, the Pixel 8 ensures longevity and relevance until 2030. Nonetheless, existing Pixel 5 or earlier model users content with their device’s performance may not find it imperative to upgrade to the Pixel 8.
