The Final Cut marks the game’s first release on consoles. This version includes all the content that was present in the original game plus full English voice acting, additional quests and a brand new part of the world to explore.

Those who have already bought Disco Elysium will also not be missing. Owners of the original game will receive The Final Cut in the form of an update for free.

The Final Cut will also make its way to Xbox consoles and the Switch sometime this summer.

Disco Elysium – The Final Cut really is meant to be the definitive way to play. When the developers at ZA / UM started making the game, they knew this version was the one they wanted everyone to play.

Speaking to Polygon in February, lead writer Helen Hindpere said, “In many ways [The Final Cut] is the Disco Elysium we dreamed to launch when we started development in 2014. ”

Disco Elysium – The Final Cut was announced last year at The Game Awards in the form of a new trailer. The announcement came with a somewhat vague release date in March.

With more than half of the month already passed, some were skeptical about whether the game would make it through that window or not. Those concerns should now be allayed with this news.

Disco Elysium originally released on PC on October 15, 2019 and was met with critical acclaim almost immediately. It has won numerous awards from The Game Awards, DICE, GDC and the BAFTAs, among others.

The top-down RPG lets players take control of an alcoholic detective who must solve a murder. What sets the game apart is that everything is done through dialogue trees, skill checks and dice. This makes the game more like a pen-and-paper RPG, as opposed to something more like the Elder Scrolls series or even Pillars of Eternity.

With Disco Elysium – The Final Cut out on PS4 and PS5 on March 30th, hopefully more gamers will be able to get their hands on this critically acclaimed game. For those who can’t wait, the base game is currently available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, GOG, and Stadia for PC and macOS.
