Sony also announces launch of loyalty program for Europe

Today, PlayStation Stars launches in the first Asian countries. For this reason, Sony has also indicated the start for other countries. On October 5 it’s the turn of the Americas and from October 13 you can also hunt for points and bonuses here in Germany.

The new loyalty program PlayStation stars – which has absolutely nothing in common with NFTs – allows you to collect points in various activities and campaigns. You can then exchange points for rewards. This includes games and PSN credit in addition to digital collectibles.

No no! Digital collectibles have nothing to do with NFT or blockchain! Sony never gets tired of making that clear. Also in a new published FAQ does this matter again:

These digital collectibles are only made for our loyalty program. While some are rare, they are not unique nor do they use blockchain technology. They cannot be resold or traded. Digital collectibles can only be collected or earned through PlayStation Stars.

PlayStation Stars will initially only be accessible through the PlayStation app for iOS and Android, as well as over the web. An offering on console devices is planned for the future.
