Private Division offers us Stories of the Shire for PS5, Xbox Series X and Switch with trailer. We can find all information about this in the press release:

Players experience in Stories of the Shire the picturesque return to what is probably the most inviting region of Middleearth and life as a hobbit in the idyllic village of Wasserau. Here you can relax on the meadows, visit the residents’ shops or enjoy a second breakfast. They help bring the community together and make Wasserau a real village by organizing the largest Wasserau village festival the Shire has ever seen.

“We’re excited to give players the opportunity to turn their imaginations into reality and live their own humble hobbit lives in the Shire,” said Kelly Tyson, Head of Product at Weta Workshop. “In Stories of the Shire Fans can experience Middleearth in a completely new and comfortable way. The comforting and cheerful gameplay is all about the hobbits, to delight newcomers to the genre.”

Fans can create and customize a Hobbit with a wealth of customization options to experience JRR Tolkien’s Middleearth in their own way. Your own hobbit cave can be transformed into a unique, modest home with a variety of furniture and decorations. Activities such as cooking, fishing, gathering, gardening and much more can be experienced in the Shire. Novice hobbits can cast their fishing rods to catch trout in the glittering Wasserauer See or collect forest mushrooms and use the ingredients to make a juicy pie for lunch. After your belly is full, you can walk around the Shire again and build relationships with the residents of Wasserau by helping them garden or enjoying one of the many daily hobbit meals together.

“The Weta Workshop team is creating a fantastic version of JRR Tolkien’s cherished works, putting players in control of how they want to live their hobbit lives in Middleearth,” said Michael Worosz, Chief Strategy Officer at TakeTwo Interactive and head from Private department. “Players have been wanting a warm and inviting Lord of the Rings™ game for years, and that’s exactly what we’re giving them Stories of the Shire.”

Middleearth Enterprises has granted Weta Workshop the broadest creative license for the literary works of the Lord of the Rings™ universe, allowing Weta Workshop Game Studio to fully exploit the world of books.

Stories of the Shire will be released in the second half of the year.
