Addressed Community Feedback
As stated in the 2021 Killing Floor 2 ‘State of the Game,’ our aim is to implement a continuous flow of Quality of Life changes in each update throughout the year. We encourage the community to continue providing feedback on any desired QOL changes by submitting their suggestions in the ‘general’ section of our official forums at: https://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/forum/killing-floor-2

General

  • Survivalist Perk
    • Option to select base grenade and starting weapon https://media.tripwirecdn.com/040722/survqol1.PNG
    • The starting weapon is only provided at the beginning of the match.
    • The base grenade is provided at the beginning of the match but can also be changed during trader time.
    • At Perk level 15, Medic Grenade or Molotov Cocktail are added to the rotation based on the perk skill selection.
  • New sorting rules in the Weapon Skin section in the inventory.
    • Ordered by trader price first, then by rarity (common to precious), and finally by quality (battle-scarred to mint).

Balance

  • Weapons
    • FAMAS Masterkey
      • Alt-fire spread reduced by 20%
      • Alt-fire fire rate increased from 50 RPM to 78 RPM
      • Alt-fire animation speed increased by 70%
    • Minigun
      • Movement speed when winding up increased by 12.5%
      • Movement speed when firing increased by 500%
      • Rotation speed when firing increased by 105%
      • Reload speed increased by 20%
      • Equip speed increased by 30%
      • Put Away speed increased by 30%
  • Perks
    • Firebug
      • Inferno (level 25 skill)
        • Reworked the skill.
        • New functionality: During Zed time, fire damage over time spreads to all surrounding Zeds.

Designer Notes :

Survivalists used to rely on randomness at the start of each match, but that is no longer the case. Survivalists can now choose their initial weapon and grenade on the Perk screen. The “random option” is still available for those who prefer it. Additionally, for Level 15+ Survivalists, the Medic Grenade or Molotov Cocktail will be included in the rotation based on the player’s skill choice. Players can still select an alternate grenade if desired. Moreover, as the grenade is associated with the perk skill and can be changed during trader time, players have the flexibility to switch grenades during this time, retaining the grenades they already possessed.

The inventory’s Weapon Skin section was fairly disorganized, with different skins mixed together. We’ve introduced some ordering rules to enhance organization, ensuring all skins of the same weapon are grouped together. Skins are now arranged by weapon trader price, then by rarity (common to precious), and finally by quality (battle-scarred to mint).

In terms of balance, adjustments have been made to two weapons considering community feedback. For the FAMAS Masterkey, we’ve boosted the fire rate for the alt-fire (shotgun fire), making it easier to use and switch between main fire and alt-fire. This change enhances the weapon’s versatility and dynamic play style. We’ve also slightly tweaked the spread to improve its effectiveness.

The Minigun was the focus of our balance adjustments, specifically addressing its mobility limitations. While maintaining its firepower, players will now experience enhanced mobility and faster reloads with this weapon.

Furthermore, we’ve completely reworked the Inferno perk skill for the Firebug. We anticipate that this skill now provides a better performance compared to the previous version, offering a suitable alternative to the Pyromaniac skill at level 25.

Bug Fixes
As also mentioned in the 2021 Killing Floor 2 ‘State of the Game,’ our objective is to continuously address community-reported bug fixes with every update during the year.
