IMPROVEMENTS

FIGHTERS

Pirate

  • Grand Cavalier (Side Dodge Heavy)
    • Duration increased to 600ms (previously 533ms)
  • Walk the Plank
    • Reduced Walk the Plank’s range by 0.5m
    • Adjusted forward movement for Walk the Plank’s Top version to match Side versions
    • Extended pin recovery time to 1500ms (was 1300ms)
    • Increased revenge gained from Pistol Blast on Walk the Plank to 30 (previously 5)
    • Reduced stamina cost of Pistol Blast on Walk the Plank to 6 (from 15)
    • Reduced range of Pistol Blast on block/miss by 0.5m

Developer’s Comment: These adjustments target specific areas where the Pirate character excelled compared to others:

  • Eliminated Walk the Plank’s ability to combo into itself on wallsplat
  • Adjusted Pistol Blast from Walk the Plank to prevent 100-0 ganks without activating revenge
  • Reduced reach of Pistol Blast after Block or Miss to limit tracking of opponents
  • Increased reactability of Grand Cavalier in 1v1 situations

Conqueror

*Developer’s Comment: Conqueror previously had strong defense but lacked offense outside Shield Bash. The changes aim to enhance the hero’s viability in both 1v1 and group fights.*

Full Block Stance

  • Can now cancel recovery of any attack
  • Stamina Regeneration allowed after 300ms
  • Recovery duration set to 300ms (previously 200ms)
  • No longer earns reduced revenge in Full Block Stance
  • No stamina drain when blocking attacks in Full Block Stance
  • Zone Attack cancel no longer available
  • Can now trigger Flail Uppercut and Scutage Collection when blocking an attack

Developer’s Comment: Adjustments made to Full Block Stance to improve usability by allowing recovery cancel against dodge attacks and provide better follow-ups based on the situation (1v1 or group fights).

Flail Uppercut

  • Execution now by pressing Heavy after Superior Block or Shield Bash
  • No longer Undodgeable
  • Can now be Parried
  • Damage reduced to 17 (previously 20)
  • Capable of executing opponents

Developer’s Comment: Flail Uppercut input changed to Heavy button, making it accessible after Shield Bash to enhance follow-up options, improve opportunities for executions, and increase damage output in 1v1 scenarios.

NEW MOVE: Scutage Collection

  • Triggered by pressing Light after Superior Block or Shield Bash
  • Damages for 15 points
  • Costs 9 Stamina
  • 360-degree trajectory
  • Speed: 466ms to hit locked target, total duration 566ms (capable of hitting additional opponents like Zone Attacks)

Developer’s Comment: Introducing Scutage Collection to aid Conqueror in outnumbered situations, usable after any Superior Block or Shield Bash to strike nearby adversaries and diversify combat options.

Zone Attack

  • Damage increased to 15 (from 8)
  • No longer holdable
  • Lost Superior Block property
  • Initiates chains

Developer’s Comment: Zone Attack adjustments to reduce defensiveness, increase damage, allow chain initiation, and improve hitboxes for better group combat performance.

Opener Heavy Attacks

  • Top version damage raised to 27 (was 24)
  • Side versions now deal 24 damage (were 22)
  • Charged versions at 700ms speed (previously 800ms for top)
  • Unblockable after charging for 600ms (formerly 1000ms)
  • Charged versions damage reduced to 28 (previously 32 for top and 30 for side)
  • Superior Block property removed
  • Blocking disabled while charging Heavy Attack
  • Shield Uppercut soft feint eliminated
  • Feinting now possible

Developer’s Comment: Standardizing damage and timing of Conqueror’s Heavy Attacks, simplifying charging requirements, and eliminating Superior Block property for fairer gameplay without option selecting attacks.

Chained Heavy Attacks

  • Top Chained Heavy attack now 800ms (previously 900ms)
  • All sides now Unblockable
  • Improved reach on side versions
  • Shield Uppercut soft feint removed
  • Feinting now applicable

Developer’s Comment: Boosting Conqueror’s Chained Heavy attacks with Unblockable property for increased pressure, feinting options for mix-ups, and better performance against multiple foes.

Unblockable heavies aim to emphasize Conqueror’s offensive capabilities using the flail itself.

Shield Bash from Dodge

  • No longer depletes stamina
  • Stamina regeneration no longer paused
  • Chains to Flail Uppercut or Scutage Collection on hit

Shield Bash mixup (Chained)

  • No stamina drain
  • No stamina regeneration interruption
  • Chains to Flail Uppercut or Scutage Collection on hit
  • Costs 10 stamina
  • Feinting now supported

Developer’s Comment: Changes to Shield Bash to prevent prolonged stamina depletion, offer distinct follow-ups for effective mix-ups in both 1v1 and group engagements, and allow feinting to enhance combat strategy.

 

Shaolin

Developer’s Comment: Shaolin’s update aims to enhance flow, introduce better openers, and provide more options to access Qi Stance.

Qi Stance Attacks

  • Qi Stance can now be canceled with a Dodge
  • Astonishing Blossom attacks speed reduced to 500ms (from 700ms)
  • Enhanced property added to Astonishing Blossom attacks
  • Top Astonishing Blossom no longer stuns
  • Elegant Lotus attacks now 700ms (previously 1000ms for top and 600ms on sides)
  • Top Elegant Lotus now Undodgeable (was Unblockable)
  • Sun Kick can chain on a miss
  • Sun Kick Strike speed increased to 400ms (was 300ms)
  • Sun Kick no longer chains to Sweep
  • Qi Stance Light, Heavy, and Sun Kick Strike now chain to Sun Sweep
  • Sun Sweep now 800ms (previously 700ms)
  • Sun Sweep feintable
  • Sun Sweep no longer knocks down allies
  • Sun Sweep recovery regains defense in the final 300ms
  • Sun Sweep now has dedicated follow-up

New Move: Sun Sweep Heavy Followup

  • Performed with Heavy button press
  • Duration 700ms
  • Stamina cost 12
  • Damage 24
  • Initiates chains and enters Qi Stance

Developer’s Comment: Adjustments aim to enhance consistency, flow between attacks, and introduce new options in combat, particularly in reading opponents’ actions and initiating Qi Stance with improved Sweep interactions.

Side Dodge Attacks

  • Chain initiation enabled
  • Access to Qi Stance added
  • Enhanced movement capabilities, both forward and sideways

Developer’s Comment: Enhancing Shaolin’s side dodge attacks to seamlessly integrate into combat flow, trigger chains, and enter Qi Stance for improved offensive strategy.

New Move: Flying Monkey Variant

  • Activated by Guard Break from Front Dodge
  • Melee attack speed 500ms
  • Timing 300ms to 500ms from Front Dodge
  • Chains to neutral Light or Heavy on hit or miss
    • Light guarantees hit

Developer’s Comment: Introduction of an opener move to enhance Qi Stance access and performance in 1v1 scenarios, where entering Qi Stance should be easier using this new ability.

Light Opener Attacks

  • Enhanced property for Top Light opener
  • Side Light opener combos now deal 10-4-4 damage (from 5-5-7)
  • Execution timing eased for Side Light opener combos

Developer’s Comment: Improving Top Light’s utility as a soft opener and increasing damage prioritization in Side Light opener combos for more impactful initial hits.

Heavy Opener and Chained Attacks

  • Extended attack range for all Opener and Chained Heavy attacks
  • Enhanced trajectories for Side Heavy Attacks
  • Normalized recovery time to 800ms for all non-Finisher Heavy Attacks

Developer’s Comment: Enhanced reach and trajectories of Side Heavy Attacks to ensure better hit rates on external targets and provide stronger pressure in group combat scenarios.

Zone Attack

  • 2nd hit now 800ms (was 500ms)
  • 3rd hit now 900ms (was 400ms)
  • Stamina costs: 20 for first hit, 20 for second, 20 for third (was 60 for first, 0 for others)
  • 2nd hit deals 15 damage (up from 12)
  • 3rd hit deals 18 damage
  • Target switch between hits enabled
  • Improved attack trajectories
  • Fixed minion interaction issues
  • 3rd hit defense boost in final 300ms of recovery

Developer’s Comment: Changes to Zone Attack dynamics to increase consistency and clarity for both Shaolin and opponents, enabling dodge and parry options, while enhancing damage output, target flexibility, and performance in group encounters.

 

FEATS

Bloodlust adjustments

  • +20% damage dealt (reduced from +50%)
  • -20% damage taken (reduced from -50%)
  • Cooldown set to 20 seconds (from 30 seconds)

Dev comment: Bloodlust toned down to curtail overpowered combinations with other feats and ensure fairer gameplay. Cooldown reduction aims to balance decreased effectiveness.
